I’ve gone through earlier threads discussing why we should stop watching porn, and I wanted to add my own thoughts on the topic.
Since discovering this place, I’ve undergone several shifts. (I didn’t sign up right away; I was a long-time reader who became a short-term poster:confused:)
To be honest at first, some of the stories here really aroused me, and I swapped out my porn habit for reading through the forum (apologies if that sounds arrogant). My girlfriend/keyholder and I had a deep discussion about societal expectations for men and women and how we both struggle to fit into those molds. This means (aside from the obvious damage caused by porn—ranging from poor working conditions to near or total sex slavery) she feels that if I’m in a relationship with her and attracted to her, why should I also be drawn to women who dress and behave the way they do? She’s relatively new to being dominant but has always held strong opinions, particularly regarding feminist theory.
So what am I trying to say? My upbringing led me to believe that as a man, not only is it normal to watch porn, but weird people are the ones who don’t. This contributed to what I consider a porn addiction. I’m still pondering whether, rather than quitting entirely (like I did with cigarettes), I’ve just substituted one habit for another in this game of chastity. The reason I say this is that my interest in porn grows stronger when my girlfriend pays me less attention, and I have to actively resist clicking on certain sites. I feel myself getting better at managing it, but it’s tricky because I absolutely do not want to let her down regarding this issue. She means everything to me; I love her deeply and am so glad we are navigating this path together.
One final point: there is a rule on the site that says “please don’t use your junk as your avatar because it might insult the ladies here” (or something similar). Regardless, there are some fairly explicit avatars from both women and men which I think would completely put my girlfriend off joining this place. Honestly, they definitely trigger me in ways I wish wouldn’t happen during my personal struggle with porn. That said, most of the people I’ve met here have been wonderful, and I truly appreciate everyone who has made me feel welcome.
That’s all if you managed to read through it! Thanks for reading:strong::strong::strong::pray::pray:
