Hacking Your Libido

My wife and I have a routine where I get locked up about once a month for around seven to ten days. During this window, my libido goes into overdrive—and hers does too. We share an incredibly intense week together, having sex much more often than usual. This is wonderful. The tricky part arrives after the lockup ends. After reaching orgasm, it feels like my refractory period stretches out for days, and our passion cools down. It gradually picks up again as the month goes on, but transitioning from high-intensity sex to a calmer phase definitely feels unusual. Leaving the lockup seems like a letdown, which is surprising because I would assume wanting access to sex after denial would be my primary desire. Does anyone else go through this or have ideas on how to sidestep it? (aside from the obvious “just stay locked” reply:) ) Is this simply a side effect of hacking your libido via chastity?
