My partner and I are about to be eight hours apart for the next year and we want to keep our keyholding dynamic going. Obviously she cannot physically hold a key anymore, but the part I am actually stuck on is the clock. Her evening is my morning. There is maybe a two hour window a day where we are both awake and neither of us is at work.
How do people handle that? I have seen mentions of apps and combination locks with the code held by the other person, but I am wary of anything where I am fully reliant on tech in case something fails at 4am her time. Do you move the check-ins to whatever hour overlaps, or drop the idea of a set time entirely and let it be asynchronous?
