Do you have to take the cage off to wash properly?

Short sessions have been fine because I just take it off and shower. But I want to try wearing it for a few days straight and I am worried about staying clean and not getting irritated.

Do you take it off to wash, or is there a way to clean everything while it stays on? I have read a bit about people using a small squeeze bottle in the shower. Does that actually work, or is daily removal just the sensible move at first?

Daily removal and a proper wash is the sensible move while you are new. It lets you check your skin at the same time, which matters more than convenience early on. Once you trust your fit, a squeeze bottle of warm water in the shower does a decent job between removals.
