When I do a longer session I completely lose track of how many edges I have done and how long I have been at it. Do you count edges, set a timer, or just go by feel?

I am curious whether people build in longer rests as the session goes on, or keep it steady the whole way. Part of me thinks tracking it would kill the mood, but going purely by feel I lose all sense of time and end up either rushing or dragging it out.

I go by feel but I keep the room clock in view so I do not fully lose the thread. My rests naturally get longer toward the end because the recovery takes longer anyway. Counting edges made the whole thing feel like a chore for me, so I dropped it.
