When Is It Truly Chastity?

I have a question and would like some input and opinions on something that may have been previously discussed but i have not searched for…When is the act of chastity considered chastity? By this i mean does it start the moment the lock clicks shut and end once the device is off? Or is it something more of a state of mind and understanding between the couple? I ask because the timer on my app says two weeks and six days which is true if being let out and accidentally not controlling myself and cumming after the first six days would still count. I feel like it would start all over and be only two weeks. Does that make sense or am i over thinking?
