Keeping the Base Ring On During Play

When your KH rewards you with attention, do you take off the CD’s base ring every time or only occasionally? My wife usually has me remove it when she teases and pleases me. She can slip the tube off without much trouble, even if I’m getting hard. The base ring is a different matter though. It’s not easy to get on or off even when soft. If I’m semi-hard, removing it gets harder, and putting it back on is almost impossible. She worries about hurting me too much by taking the ring off, which seems fair. So mostly during playtime, she leaves the CD in place. She also won’t try to put it back on anymore because a few attempts have gone wrong. It looks like keeping the base ring on part of the time is a viable choice. My current device has a large locking post sticking out from the ring. I plan to switch to a steelworxx with an integrated lock, hoping that will solve some issues. Any advice? Thanks
