I got pulled into a chat on another forum, which sparked a thought. It’s something I’ve had in the back of my mind for some time, but only recently did it click.
We all think we “know” what “permanent” means. Unfortunately, there’s no consensus among us.
Since this topic pops up several times each month and everyone has their own twist on the definition, I want to propose a matrix, much like those political or religious ideology charts you see everywhere online.
For my fellow geeks out there, I’ve defined two variables: Chastity (wearing a device) and Denial (allowing orgasms). This is because whenever we talk about it, these two concepts are always linked. That connection is partly why we struggle to agree on terms or spend so much time clarifying our specific definitions.
The matrix places the variables along scales: Chastity runs from Always Locked to Never Locked, while Denial goes from Never Allowed Orgasm to Always/Often Allowed Orgasm.

I’m putting this out there for your thoughts. I considered giving each box a 1-5 scale to help those who want to pinpoint or explain their specific situation more closely. For instance, if I am almost always locked except for medical reasons or travel, but never get an orgasm, that might be a +4,+5 score. Someone who is locked up for weeks, unlocks occasionally for T&D, and has regular orgasms could be -3, -3. A guy without a device at all, yet only allowed one orgasm every three months, might rate as -5, +3.
At the very least, when we get asked about “permanent chastity,” someone can answer with their matrix position: “I’m a +3/+3, and my take is…”
