Wow, I just had my piercing done---a frenum one, which is also the very first I’ve ever received. First off, a big thank you to everyone here who has shared questions and advice over the years. That background knowledge made me feel much more at ease and helped me communicate better with my piercer. I decided to go for it quite deep; enough so that the bar sits mostly hidden beneath, leaving only the barbells visible. Following the recommended gauges and wanting to play it safe, I chose an 8g initial size. I can’t say how pleased I am with the outcome. It hurt a lot less than expected. I went in telling my piercer exactly what I wanted for the procedure and aftercare, and she was extremely knowledgeable. I even showed her the product I planned to buy, explained how it should connect, and shared some of my worries (ensuring no force would be put on the piercing itself, avoiding rejection, checking the size). We covered all my concerns, and by the end, I felt so comfortable that I just decided to get it done right then. It’s only been a couple of days, but thus far, everything has gone smoothly. No pain, just benefits. As someone else mentioned, my only regret is not doing it sooner. So again, thanks everyone for all the varied advice and experience reports!
