Simply put, what is the reason behind it all?

@waki86 noted “For us it works best for both of us that I don’t come.” As I mentioned before, I am reaching the same conclusion. The one question I still have is: why? I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on why long-term denial is so effective over time. Aside from the obvious reasons, of course.
