Alright. My wife kept the key for almost a month. The experience was mostly positive. She seemed to appreciate the added focus, requesting leg massages and singing “I got the key” whenever I tried to complain, etc. It generally went smoothly. However, once she gave me the key back, I waited some time before bringing it up again. I spoke with my wife to understand why it didn’t work out initially. The main issue was that I began demanding more than expected—things which bothered her. To be specific: Asking her to carry the key rather than just storing it away. Requesting a denial period. Making occasional remarks about being locked up. And. She felt burdened by yet another responsibility. She prefers when I am usually in charge and didn’t really want this shift. So now, I self-lock. I decide when to start and how long to stay locked. Sometimes it doesn’t align with her preferences, but she accepts it without issue. Cage? No problem. She recognizes the benefits. It has become our new normal. I always assumed my wife controlled our sex life since she holds the veto power. But I admit she rarely says no; even when not in the mood, she usually offers something. I think she views it as a simple way to keep me content? Meanwhile, my wife doesn’t view sex as a necessity and could live without it happily enough. She enjoys it though—it’s a pleasure rather than an obligation or need. So that extra liter of orgasms holds little appeal for her. However, my wife isn’t as vanilla as she pretends to be. The household chores are something she likes doing on her own terms. I’ve tried helping out; she appreciates the effort but insists she handle it herself. This is how she wants to present herself: “You go build or fix things.” It might help if I can identify a benefit for her that makes sense. So now seems like a good moment to bring up the topic again. My wife knows I was disappointed when I got the key back, and I’m confident there’s a way to try once more if I present my case correctly and on favorable terms. I won’t get much time to speak before she gets bored and cuts it off. She definitely won’t read anything lengthy I write. In fact, she would be horrified if I created written records that the kids might discover as evidence that we aren’t a typical couple. So I have just one chance. To say: “Let’s try again, and this time I won’t act such an idiot” Any ideas?
