Hello everyone; I guess this topic might have come up before on these forums, but my search for “travel” didn’t bring up similar threads. So here is the situation I am facing. This winter we are heading to Puerto Vallarta. Right now I wear a 6000s model, and a steel (MM) device is arriving soon. Judging by all the reviews I’ve read, I think it will be quite cozy. It also seems like it would hide well under swimwear, so I want to bring it along for the whole trip. Obviously, wearing it while traveling isn’t an option. I can strap on the 6000s with a plastic lock during my flights and take the metal device separately. The question is whether to check the MM device or keep it in my carry-on. My worry about checking it is the risk of lost luggage, plus those routine bag inspections that Mexican security tends to perform. Keeping it in my hand baggage avoids loss but means gate security will see it on the x-ray and might decide to inspect it further (“What’s this?”). Has anyone dealt with this before or have any advice? Also, what is it like wearing a plastic device through those full-body scanners? Has someone tried that and can share how it went?
