The lower lock seems like it might cause some irritation or even harm to the scrotum. Personally, I’d rather see the brass part of the device (which is actually the locking mechanism) covered in steel, similar to how the Holy Trainer works. We also have a sense that perhaps the lock should be positioned higher up with the hinge lower down. It’s a bit bulky, but if you need to open it for cleaning and a quick check-up, having an unobstructed view is important. Plus, placing the hinge at the bottom might prove less troublesome than keeping the lock there.
