Here is the contraption I built and worn continuously for over a month now. When we began this journey, I picked up several off-the-shelf cages to see which features appealed to me and which didn’t. The Bon4 was quite good initially when paired with my own solid “A” ring, but eventually, its heft became problematic. As a semi-retired machinist who runs a fully equipped workshop, it felt natural to craft one myself… rather ironic given the subject matter.
There were specific requirements I had that weren’t met by many custom designs I’d seen:
- A solid “A” ring without fixed posts, locking mechanisms, sharp edges, or corners so it could stay on like a standard cock ring. Since my partner enjoys PIV intercourse, avoiding discomfort was key; she also prefers to lock me up right after playtime, and putting on a rigid ring can be tricky for her.
- An open design that is easy to clean since it will be worn around the clock.
- Light weight. Although I enjoyed the sensation of my Bon4 initially, its heaviness eventually pulled everything downward once I got used to it.
- Security. No device is perfect, but I aimed for maximum sturdiness. More on this later.
- Minimal parts with no spacers where possible.
I considered stainless steel or titanium but chose aluminum instead. Let’s be honest, a penis doesn’t generate that much force…lol. It’s strong enough to keep things contained and then some, plus it is very light.
As I am a grower, I needed a shorter cage length. Both the “A” ring and the rings on the cage are machined from solid aluminum blocks, while the main body uses 1/8 inch (3mm) bar stock. It weighs just 2.2 OZ (62G) excluding the lock.
Furthermore, I don’t fit into standard “A” rings, so this allowed me to customize the size perfectly. I opted for a curved cage shape, believing it would aid with bathroom use and overall comfort. Finally, powder coated the entire assembly because I wanted to prevent urine from oxidizing the aluminum; I knew the coating would withstand that.
We are both very happy with it and haven’t encountered any problems yet. It is extremely comfortable—I rarely notice it most of the time. There will be some design tweaks though. I plan to integrate my frenulum piercing for added security and straighten out the cage. Because I shrink significantly, my penis tends to “bend upward,” which makes aligning things when urinating take longer than I’d like.
