We all know the CB-X rings can essentially come apart. I’m currently using one sized right in the middle, which seems to work well (though I’ve considered trying the next size down since I prefer it “high and tight”). As an experiment, during my last cleaning break, I removed the cage while keeping the entire ring intact—it went without a hitch!
However, when I tried putting it back on with the ring still assembled, it didn’t look like it was going to happen. I wasn’t hard at all, but getting the whole package through that opening seemed impossible (or at least not without some pain).
Is there a trick I’m missing? I really want to switch to a metal cage, but I don’t want to spend the money if I can’t even get it on after waiting so long. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
