Odd Lumping Underneath the Tube

I’ve worn the cb6000s for a while now without any issues. I believe my longest stretch with no removal was roughly four weeks. No problems at all. Lately, I moved to a Steelheart device which felt very comfortable. But when I took it out, I noticed clearly distressed skin along the sides of my penis and a hard swelling on the underside. It didn’t hurt and function remained fine. This happened after about 4 weeks of continuous use. The skin peeled off quickly like a sunburn heal-up, and the swelling subsided within two days. I was convinced the device was too narrow, so I sent back my base ring to get a wider tube matched up with it. After two days in release mode, I put the cb6000s back on. That was about a week ago. I just had reason to remove them and found that while the skin is okay now, the swelling underneath has started again. This bothers me because I thought I was nearing perfection, and I’m certain there are long lock downs planned for me soon. If I tell my wife about this issue, she will likely drop it entirely. Has anyone else dealt with this or something similar?
