I recently had a bit of an emotional episode. I’ve been happily married for more than two decades, and running into one of my wife’s past lovers—who is still a friend—made me realize she dated quite a few people before we met, while I didn’t have many partners myself. This brought up my longstanding insecurity about being below average in penis size. For days, I dwelled on self-pity, convincing myself that compared to the well-endowed men from her past, I never really satisfied her properly in bed. It’s almost 30 years together now, so it seems ridiculous, but my mind kept racing. After talking things over with her several times, she assured me repeatedly that I was being silly and had been a wonderful lover, emphasizing that the actual size of penises doesn’t matter much to her.
I’m glad to hear this and am getting back on track mentally, though I’ll always carry some regret about my earlier love life and my small penis (roughly 4 and 3/4 inches). One positive outcome from our talks was discussing how chastity has been beneficial for us in recent years. It continues to help manage the difference in our libidos, especially as she goes through menopause.
