I can barely recall the last time I spent time with a crowd and watched hours fly by! My trip to Winchester was much quicker than anticipated, which was nice considering how the weather behaved. That extra time let me loop around for a bit and locate the nearest parking spot. Parking itself took a moment because of the slight incline; my reversing gave me trouble, so I just abandoned that effort and pulled in facing forward. I strolled over (carefully mind you, since my boots had slick bottoms!) to the pub, intending to head straight for the bar first. Luckily, as I entered and glanced toward the rear, I spotted a book on a table situated between two men, clearly being shown off, so I made my way directly to them. I was still feeling pretty nervous and I’m certain I said something foolish regarding the book before introducing myself and drifting away to get my drink. When I came back, a nice younger man had joined their group; he seemed even more jumpy than me. We all discussed the weather, and when another pair arrived, we shifted tables. The spot they usually claim already had a couple of people in it, but as others trickled in, room opened up for us to squeeze around a large table. It turned out the young fellow, who didn’t talk much, was some sort of physicist. I thought he was very appealing and hope we cross paths again! A gentleman who’d been so helpful via messaging on FetLife showed up too, along with a woman who had been posting in the munch thread, which made me feel right at home. Everyone was wonderful! I was thrilled to be there among them. We all seem to share views on what it means to live that 24/7 lifestyle dream. While we’d all love to do it full-time, life requires other things… careers… kids… When I finally glanced at my phone for a time check, it was nearly 11 pm! People began heading out, and since the friendly guy lives in my town and planned to take the train, I offered him a ride. We went back to my car, and sure enough, it hadn’t stayed exactly where I left it—it had drifted backward by about a foot or two. Oops! The drive home was pleasant, and after dropping off my new acquaintance just five minutes from my house, I got in myself shortly past midnight. I only urge folks who haven’t yet to attend munches; though finding the right one might take some time. The other munch I’ve been to never felt quite this comfortable for me, but this particular group fits me perfectly!
