Hi all, I shared my story with my wife in an earlier post. We are both early forties and have been married for a decade. She has cheated on me before, leaving three times for other men but eventually returning.
Yesterday we had a frank talk about our life together. My wife admitted that she truly feels no sexual attraction toward me. When we do have sex, she needs to picture herself with someone else in order to enjoy it. She explained that her love for me is still there, but it’s of a different nature—more like the affection one has for a pet, a close friend, or a relative, rather than sexual passion. The main reason she left previously was her desire to avoid having sex with me. Yet, she loves me and doesn’t wish to leave permanently. To preserve our marriage, we are making new arrangements. We will remain married but live without sex—our union will be sexless. I will take a submissive role, living as her “asexual” or “non-sexual” slave husband. She retains the freedom to sleep with other men if she chooses, and also has the option to have sex with me whenever she wishes. She clarified that vaginal intercourse is off the table for us. However, oral sex is possible; I can perform it on her, but only if she initiates it. I do not have the right to initiate any sexual activity myself. I agreed to these terms. It has been my fantasy for years, though reality often differs from dreams. My wife and I haven’t had intercourse since mid-September 2018, so over four months now. But I hadn’t realized she planned a permanent cut-off sexually. What do you think? Has anyone else experienced this kind of dynamic with their spouse? If my wife lacks sexual desire for me, does it mean her love has faded? Can a woman stay with a husband while lacking that physical pull? I’d appreciate your thoughts and advice. Thanks in advance.
