I’m just musing aloud here. Perhaps it’s only my perspective, but I suspect a good portion of the frustrations we encounter with MC stem from not looking far enough ahead?
We’re all in this for the long haul, right? So why do I find myself craving perfection immediately and continuously?
If I pause to consider how much Melissa and I have accomplished in just about three months, it’s truly impressive. Are there things we want to explore or try? Absolutely. Pegging is one that comes up. Is she prepared for it yet? Not at this moment. But who knows what might happen in another few months, six months, or even a year or two?
We’ve experienced some wonderfully passionate intimacy lately. We’ve also had periods of abstinence. I constantly remind myself that this is normal. It doesn’t signal failure; MC is inherently intense, it has been so before, and it will remain so. So why worry? Why force things? Why argue or talk excessively? Talking is good, yes. But continue moving forward even when the path feels a bit empty.
I tend to doubt its value briefly from time to time, but I felt that way prior to MC as well. It’s significantly better now with it in place, and I am eager about where this journey will take us over the coming years.
Does any of this resonate!? Michael
