I just got my Birdlocked Neo today and decided to share a review. I also have a Birdlocked Maxi with a 50mm ring. With the Maxi, my right ball would occasionally slip back through the ring. It wasn’t painful, but it didn’t feel very secure either. I had modified it by looping a chain snugly under my balls and securing it in place using the same lock that went through the post. The chain passed through soft plastic tubing for comfort. It worked well enough, though not as comfortably as I’d hoped.
Now to the Neo. It uses the same silicone material with similar thickness. As you can see from the pictures, the back of the ring is wider than the front, which is flattened out to keep the balls in place. The tube end looks closer in size to a Classic rather than a Maxi, but I still fit it perfectly. It took me some time to figure out how to put it on correctly. With the Maxi, I could manage putting it on without lube if I wore a stocking over my shaft, which isn’t really possible with the Neo. At the same time, I can’t grease up my balls too much because they get too slick to pull through the flattened end of the ring properly. So here is how I got mine on: I pulled the balls through normally without lube. Then I worked my dick through the ring, again without lube, so it would be nearly impossible for it to slip out due to the “grabbiness” of the silicone. Finally, I applied a tiny bit of water-based lube to the inside of the tube and slid my dick in.
The fit is good; the body end of the ring sits very snugly against me. When locked, there’s zero chance of a ball retreating through the ring, and I don’t think it would be possible for me to pull my dick out either. If I did manage that, getting it back in would be difficult, and the silicone grabbing on so much that it would hurt enough to make me avoid doing anything with it anyway. I experienced some pain while sleeping because the silicone ring grabbed onto my sack skin. I took the device off briefly to let the skin recover and will put it back on in a few days. Once it’s reattached, I’ll add lube or Vaseline along the sides and bottom of the ring to prevent further pain. In short, the pain wasn’t due to a design flaw but rather my not following the manufacturer’s instructions closely enough. When worn correctly, the device holds the balls slightly wider and more forward. It takes some getting used to, but even with that adjustment, I think it shows less through clothes than the Maxi.
I definitely like the Neo. It addresses all the issues I had with the Maxi while remaining discreet, comfortable, and very secure. Let me know if there’s anything else you’re wondering about that I didn’t cover here, and I’ll do my best to answer.
