I’m not certain about the timing of my test. I do know it will come off after a struggle with some heavy-duty pliers or wire cutters. I hesitate to make the final decision! The idea of avoiding a bulging lock is appealing, particularly since I have this stainless steel ring and cage combination. Expect more details soon.
