The piercing itself hurt more than expected. Online reports often claim it barely hurts at all, so that’s what I anticipated. In reality, it was more painful than those accounts suggested. The entire procedure took under 60 seconds. It was uncomfortable overall, with brief but sharp pains during the piercing and stretching phases. Josh fitted me with an 8G titanium curved barbell featuring 1/4” balls. This matched my preference; he noted it is usually the most comfortable option for healing, although rings are also viable. My partner M accompanied me to the shop. It was good to have her there. Afterward, I felt a bit lightheaded, so she drove us home. I likely would have managed on my own but appreciated being able to just relax as a passenger. Josh predicted some occasional bleeding in the first couple of days, which proved accurate. The first night left a 2” blood stain on our sheets, and I noticed some blood on my clothes the next day. If it had been heavier, absorbent padding around the penis would have helped. There was slight crusting on days two and three, but nothing after that. General healing advice is to leave it be and let nature take its course. Avoid touching it and keep body fluids away from it. Hydrate well and urinate frequently to flush the area naturally. In the shower, just let water run over it. You can optionally use sterilized saline solution (I haven’t tried that yet). Antibiotics aren’t necessary. The first few times I peed afterward felt a bit burning, but otherwise, no issues. Most of the time, there is no pain at all. Occasionally, pressure on the piercing triggers a mild ache. Nighttime erections cause pulling and discomfort. My routine is to get up, urinate, let the erection subside, and then the pain goes away. I am considering whether a longer barbell would help accommodate erections without stretching too much. However, it might protrude more, which could create its own set of problems. Regarding standing to pee: The 1/4” ball rests right at the urethral opening. Urine flows over and around this bead, streaming off the far side. It spreads out slightly more than before but is very manageable for larger targets like urinals, trees, or rocks. I still sit on toilets. There is negligible dribbling from the hole. In short: it hurt a bit more than advertised. The painful portion lasted less than a minute. Overall, it was worth it. I enjoy having it, and M likes how it looks. We are excited to try secure and comfortable chastity devices with this setup. If you prefer not to be warned about the pain right away, feel free to forget what you just read and look at other reports where people claim they had very little trouble.
