Chastity and orgasm denial discussion

I’m mostly new to this scene. I’ve only ever spent a single night locked up in sweet torment… and there’s one thing on my mind. It appears that many chastity devices stop you from getting an erection entirely. On the bright side, it seems they foster obedience and ownership, but I have two reservations. I wonder whether the frustration of holding back an erect penis is more intense than simply not having one at all. That’s really what I’m asking those with more experience. My other big worry is that I’ve dealt with erectile issues before which were rooted in emotion rather than physical cause, and I don’t want to go back there. Being trained out of erections might be the last thing I need. Oh, by the way, my one night of torment was done simply by threading a padlock through a frenulum piercing. Unfortunately, that left me with a much larger hole in my frenulum than I wanted and some loss of sensation:-( Also, masturbation can happen in pretty unexpected places! I’ve tried out a few tube-style devices and found them uncomfortable enough to be painful. The new silicon device (I forget the name for now) is tempting, but it looks like it would prevent erections.
