I recently saw this question on Twitter: When you and your partner disagree, getting upset in the process, do you keep wearing the lock? Men: Do you take off the cage until things calm down? Women: Do you tell him to “Just get that thing off” or let it stay put?
I didn’t want to turn this into a poll; I’m just looking for some responses.
Here’s my take:
For us, being locked is the norm (and now, exclusively) how we operate. It doesn’t change based on mood. Even historically, it never really wavered. We have our routine - once you’re in there, you stay there, through thick and thin. I asked Mrs Edge about this, and she says it’s never even crossed her mind. When she first said she wanted total control over me, it stopped being a “play” toy that could be removed on a whim. Being locked up is just part of our everyday existence.
