About ten days after my Holy Trainer arrived, a letter came via TNT. They claimed I owed duty on the purchase, totaling $35.
Novamedia was quick to respond when I reached out, assuming it was an error. However, they clarified that customs charges are not their responsibility and suggested I dispute any overcharge directly with TNT. After scrutinizing Novamedia’s website and digging through their FAQ, I found the clause about potential extra fees. It seems odd they didn’t highlight this more prominently on the checkout page instead of hiding it in the details.
All up, my total spend is now $243. For a small premium over that, I could have opted for a bespoke stainless steel unit. I wonder if others here have faced similar charges?
