It turns out a piece of the base on one of the locating pins for my 6000s snapped off. It should hold up for now, but eventually that pin is going to separate from its base completely. I’m hoping a simple part replacement will fix the ring assembly issue.
With my older CB models getting old and their rings developing stress cracks, I picked up a steel device: a Master Series “Bastille” cage. … ement-cage It’s not as refined as custom options, but the quality is solid enough. I did modify it slightly to reduce play in the pin/slider connection by sliding a short piece of clear fuel line over the pin; this gives just enough clearance for the lock to fit into the hole while letting the cage’s slider bump against it.
So far so good. They seem to be manufactured quickly, which means quality control can vary, but mine is pretty nice. It’s heavier than I expected, though not excessively so, and remains quite comfortable. The rings are thinner gauge, so despite having no adjustability in the ring/cage gap—which worried me—I haven’t had a ball pull through yet. Plus, it doesn’t spread my balls out like my CB6000 or 2K models do.
It’s easy to pee with and should breathe better than the standard 6000 model too. I wish it tucked down just a bit more so it’s less obvious when sitting, but that’s minor. That sums up my current chastity life: spending money and staying locked.
