This often comes up in the scene and sparks curiosity, prompting discussion here as well. I follow SSC with my wife, but my slave and I operate under RAK. To illustrate: My wife and I have a safe word and stick to tight limits. We align closely with Jay Wiseman’s approach on this point. My slave has no safe word. We talk about the areas that are off-limits or where I hesitate to go, but if I decide to venture there, she accepts it. Yes, risk is part of the deal. Our dynamic is intense; we might deter some SSC purists while simultaneously exciting others who get quite worked up over us.
