Last Saturday night I headed down to the For those who haven’t been, this annual gathering usually sees attendees donning their most outlandish ensembles for a sexy evening featuring dungeon room activities plus exhibitions and shows—think fashion displays and burlesque acts. My friend’s ex put on a brilliant fan dance, one of the DJs seemed to be digging through my record collection, and another woman spontaneously treated us all to an incredibly athletic pole routine. Mostly though, everyone just parades about chatting and dancing. The costumes this year were generally very impressive! One lady wore a full-body rubber hobble dress with a complete hood and elaborate headdress; she looked stunning. A couple of girls arrived in nothing but high heels and masks (yes, it was masked), prompting our comment… “well if you’ve got it, flaunt it” they certainly had it! Corsets and tight-fitting rubber gear were everywhere. In fact, there were so many lovely outfits that inspecting them all became almost exhausting. The venue wasn’t quite right this time around either (as in past years), which kept the evening from achieving perfection. The stairs were narrow and there were bottlenecks where people had to squeeze by or wait their turn. Despite that, we still enjoyed ourselves immensely, met some fascinating new folks, and spent all night admiring beautiful people dressed up interestingly. I can’t complain. Now that it’s done, I suppose I’ll just have to wait for the next antichrist or crimson event… or perhaps Christmas will offer a slightly different flavor of fun.
