It’s such a lovely way to kick off the holidays. We had just finished packing up for our week-long family camping trip when we got the order to “get locked down”. Since there would be family around, I was told it wouldn’t matter much anyway. Now I’ve also been informed that while we stop by the house to switch campgrounds over the rest of the week, all the keys will be tied on a string hanging in the center of a gallon jug filled with water, freezing solid at home while we are away. The jug will stay in the freezer until the last week of July when we head out for an adults-only weekend. From there, that block of ice goes into the beer cooler; if it thaws and stays liquid in the cooler, I might get released then. But if it remains frozen when we come home, it just gets put back in the freezer. With bagged ice on the cooler all weekends too, I’m not sure the block will ever thaw enough to release the keys from its icy grip. Guess I really have no idea when I’ll actually be let go.
