I’m not new to this scene at all, but I rarely lock up (my longest stretch was eight days in a CB-6000S). The main issue I had with the CB-6000S is that its ring sits directly against my shaft. It would leave a mark or cause swelling exactly where the ring touches—something I think is a poor design because that contact surface is flat rather than curved.
I purchased several inexpensive Chinese cages (around $30) and found the ideal 42mm ring size, which features a nice curve. There was absolutely no swelling at the point of contact on my shaft—yay! For my specific anatomy, I cannot use any lubrication on the ring; if there is lube, it just slides right off. My regular ring size is 40mm, but putting that one on is quite a struggle, and my balls would start changing color while doing so.
Wearing the cage when not aroused produces no real issues (I also discovered that shorter cages work better for me—not only does this keep the shaft closer to the opening, but the lighter weight helps prevent slippage). During times of arousal, though, I experienced significant swelling on those contact areas, likely because my cock was trying to become erect. It wasn’t painful, and the edema cleared up relatively fast; after removing it for bed and getting another erection, it had completely disappeared—I’d estimate about 30 minutes later.
This is slightly worrying since I want to protect myself well enough. I don’t have much extra length to spare, lol.
So, is this just part of the caging package? Is it specific to my anatomy? Are there products for the shaft that aren’t as slick as standard lube?
Although denial appeals to me greatly, wearing a cage is really more of a part-time hobby than an all-day commitment, so I’m not planning to spend a fortune on custom gear. Honestly, I do like this current cage; it’s my only real gripe right now.
Thanks for your insights!
