Sleeping Erection Versus Cock Ring Anxiety

Since we recently decided to venture into steel based devices (our Jailbird should be here in a few weeks time), she has started “training” me by using solid steel rings - more or less the same sizes as I’ve typically been using on my CB6K. To put it mildly, the first night I tried to sleep in a solid ring was a quite scary experience… Much like expected I woke up in the middle of the night with a massive wood. Nothing shocking there. But what happened next kinda took me by surprise: I almost panicked… I suddenly realized I was in a situation I had no control over - at least it felt that way… Having a massive erection, for a large part caused by the ring itself (hard enough to hurt even without wearing a cage), which in turn makes it impossible to remove the ring, which in turn makes it hard/impossible to lose the erection at will… And round and round it goes… I’m sure you see where this is going. After a scary 30 minutes or so I finally got out of the ring, but for later I’d like to know I am slightly more in control so to speak. I don’t mind being locked down and lose control in that way - I trust my KH with my life without hesitation. But the feeling of losing control over removal of the base ring was a completely new and unwelcome experience. I guess what I’m asking is basically whether others have had similar experiences and what tricks or tips you might have when it comes to getting rid of a morning wood when you really need to. Most of all to have the confidence of knowing I could if I needed to. All tips and tricks greatly appreciated
