Just like a lot of us here in the US, we marked Memorial Day yesterday by inviting the neighbors over for a barbecue. While I was making one of my many runs between the grill and the kitchen, our female neighbor asked my wife, “Hey, what’s that key for?” She usually keeps it tucked inside her shirt, but at some point it had slipped out—whether on purpose or not is up in the air. Since I was standing right next to them when she posed the question, I let out a pretty loud, nervous laugh and kept heading toward the grill, so I missed my wife’s reply. I have to confess, that moment got me really turned on; I asked her multiple times during the evening what her answer had been. She could see my excitement and decided to tease me by not revealing exactly how she responded right then. Later, as we sat around the fire pit, she texted me: “I told her it holds sentimental value for both you and me, that it reminds you of me constantly.”
We’ve seen several women share their reactions here before, but I haven’t come across many detailing the actual moments when they were asked. I’d be keen to hear about similar experiences from others.
